Happy Birthday Janice!
It was my friend Janice's birthday a few weeks ago (exactly one week before mine!). This year Janice started doing a pole dancing class and got very excited when she managed to hang upside down, which gave me the idea for this drawing...

Happy Birthday Cristina!
My brother recently commissioned me to draw a card for his friend Cristina's 30th birthday. He was very specific that it should feature her, a cake and a giraffe...

Congratulations Kavita and Gus!
How time flies! Over a month ago, I went to the wedding of my friends Kavita and Gus. I had previously designed the invitation for their wedding with an illustration of them both on the front. Gus use to be in the Royal Air Force and Kavita works as a GP...

At the wedding Kavita's friend Jenny had made the (delicious!) wedding cake, and she told me that she'd had the idea to create the figures on the top of the cake after seeing my invitation...

And so when it came to making a card for Kavita and Gus, I thought I'd take some inspiration from Jenny's cake, and draw Kavita and Gus on top of a cake!

Happy Birthday Agustin
Yesterday was my friend Agustin's birthday and he decided very last minute to go for drinks in the evening, which didn't leave me much time to draw a card... but I managed!

Happy (Retroactive) Birthday!
May is a busy month for birthdays and I have quite a few cards to post in a while, but first, I've got a few cards that I never got round to posting before...
Firstly (and also the longest in time since her actual birthday) is this card I drew for Jess, who makes AMAZING cakes! Her birthday was actually last December, but for some reason, I hadn't actually scanned it before giving it to her, so couldn't upload a picture before. Thankfully, Jess took a photo of the card, so I can finally post it here...

Not quite so far back, it was Alyana's birthday in March. I drew this picture of her...

Also in March, it was Celine's birthday. When I was chatting to her online, she said something about this being her 30...something birthday, and I liked the phrase...

Getting a bit more up-to-date, it was Camila's birthday in April. Camila works in a comic shop in London and I drew this picture of her reading an Adventure Time comic...

And finally, at the end of April it was Mel's birthday. Mel is a massive Star Treknerd fan and even went to the World Premiere of the latest Star Trek film in Sydney, so I drew this picture of her all Trek'd out...

Happy Birthday Spider-Man!
Amazing Fantasy #15 – featuring the first appearance of Spider-Man – was published by Marvel Comics in August 1962, so this month marks Spider-Man's 50th anniversary! Here's a drawing I did to commemorate the occasion...

Dino-FAIL! Happy Birthday Mel!
So, despite the fact that I had it written in my diary and on both my calenders (yes, I have two calenders. One upstairs, and one downstairs!) that her birthday was today, "apparently" it was my friend Mel's birthday yesterday (and I guess she would know best).
Anyway, mysterious date discrepancies aside, I did manage to draw her a birthday picture...

Maybe that's why the dinosaurs really became extinct – because they weren't able to reach the cake!
