The Line It Is Drawn: Week 374

This week's The Line It Is Drawn theme was a fun one: mash-up superhero comic book characters with famous comic strips!

I chose BigMike20X6's suggestion for a Flash of Two Worlds cover homage starring Dennis the Menace (both the UK and US versions).

Here's my piece for The Line...

And here's the original cover from Flash #123...

Also Brian_Cronin suggested Spider-Man/Garfield, and I already had a strip that I drew a few years ago now which was pretty much that:

If you enjoyed these, definitely go and check out the other contributions to this week's Line over at CBR.com. It's one of my favourite ones in a while!

Happy Birthday Dennis The Menace

Dennis The Menace is 60 years old today! First published in The Beano on 17 March 1951, the character has appeared in the comic ever since (and shouldn't be confused with the US comic strip Dennis The Menace, which was first published five days earlier on 12 March 1951).

Luckily for him, as a comic character he doens't show his age. But I thought I'd draw a picture of him if he did...

**UPDATE: 30/3/2012**
Kris White emailed me today to ask if he could include my drawing of the sexagenarian Dennis The Menace on his website The 1951 Club, which is all about people born in 1951, just like Dennis.
