Paul Shinn covers Sweet Tooth #1

My work is featured over on the Covered blog, where artists re-interpret comic covers. I've been featured on the site twice before, and this time I've redrawn the cover to the first issue of one of my current favourite comics, Sweet Tooth, which is written and drawn by Jeff Lemire.

Here is the original cover by Jeff Lemire, followed by my version below it...

And I was also pleased that Jeff Lemire retweeted my message on Twitter about my version of his cover. Hope he liked it!

Paul Shinn covers Wolverine #8

My work is featured on the Covered blog today! The idea behind the blog is to rework an existing comic book cover in your own style. I've been featured on their before, and this time my entry was a reworking of the cover to Wolverine #8, featuring Wolverine and the Hulk.

Here's my version and below it the original cover by John Buscema...

Paul Shinn covers Uncanny X-men #141

Hooray! My work is featured on the Covered website today! The site, run by Robert Goodin, features the work of a variety of artists reworking existing comic book covers in their own style.

I produced a version of John Bryne's cover to Uncanny X-men #141, taking the grim and gritty original from the '80s (left) and applying elements of Monty Python's Dead Parrot sketch for a slightly more humorous twist...

Paul Shinn covers Amazing Spider-Man 16

So, I found this really cool blog site called Covered where a variety of artists have redone existing comic book covers in their own style. It's an open submission site, and updated daily (Mon–Fri) with a new selected work.

Last week, I had a go at producing my own cover version of Amazing Spider-man #16, originally drawn by Steve Ditko in 1963. Unfortunately my submission did not make it onto the blog this time, but I was happy with the final image and wanted to post it here. Here is my submission on the right, next to the original cover:

I enjoyed working on this piece, and will definitely work on another cover to submit in the future.
