So tomorrow is the Royal Wedding and everyone seems to have momentarily gone insane!
This evening I was reading through a newspaper on my way home and there was a whole article about how everyone is desperate to know who has designed Kate Middleton's wedding dress. Really???
Anyway, it gave me an idea for a drawing, and so I can exclusively reveal the dress that Kate Middleton will be wearing tomorrow for the wedding...
...maybe!

Happy 30th Birthday Melanie McClure!
It was/is my friend Mel's birthday yesterday/today/tomorrow [delete as appropriate]. Due to some confusion involving time-travel (or just the fact that she lives in Australia and so is in a completley different time zone to me), I'm not entirely sure when exactly her birthday occurred, but regardless, I made her a card for her birthday!
I was trying to decide whether to draw her something with dinosaurs or something with Zelda (both of which she loves). So in the end I decided to combine the two and draw her a Dino-Link...

Happy Birthday Nika!
Today was my friend Nika's birthday. So obviously I drew a picture of her as a multi-armed Shiva-esque deity (having a smoke and drinking milk)!

Super-human #1
Sure he's faster than a speeding bullet! More powerful than a locomotive!! Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound!!! But even Superman must have to do the washing up sometime...
I've finally got around to working on this idea that I've had in my head for a while now. Taking iconic brightly coloured comic book superheroes and placing them in a much more ordinary setting than they are usually depicted.

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter! The day when Jesus got better and had a real craving for chocolate...or something. I drew this picture as a submission for Illustration Rally, but then after I finished it, somebody commented on a blog post I made last Easter, and I suddenly realised that I'd already done a similar idea before... Well, if something's worth doing once, it's worth doing again. And Jesus really does love chocolate!
Anyway, back to this image, and I decided to use a brush pen I found lying around on my desk for the drawing, and I quite like the differences in width it creates. I think I'll experiment a bit more with this in the future...
Right, I'm off to eat some more chocolate!

Illustration Rally: Royal Wedding
In case you hadn't heard (because it hasn't been mentioned that much), next Friday is the Royal Wedding between Prince William and Catherine Middleton.
I've been slightly amazed at the amount of Royal Wedding souvenirs that I've seen on sale leading up to the big day. Everything from masks of William and Kate to t-shirts, tea towels, plates and even condoms!
I'm sure even the Queen likes to have a nice cup of tea in a Wills & Kate mug...
The Illustration Rally site will be featuring a series of illustrations based around the Royal Wedding, and my effort is kicking the whole thing off.

Repaneled
I sent a submission to the Repaneled blog which is featured on the site. The idea behind the blog is to rework an existing comic book panel.
I picked this panel by Frank Quitely from New X-men #116...

Happy Birthday Shirlene!
It was my friend Shirlene's birthday today. She works as both a graphic designer and a fashion model and a few weeks ago, posted some photos from a shoot where she was wearing a dress made from leaves, which gave me the idea for an illustration for her birthday...

Illustration Friday: Bottled
This week's Illustration Friday theme is Bottled.
While I was thinking this over, my brain went through the following chain of thoughts:
Bottled... Ship in a Bottle... Ship Wreck... Ship Wreck in a Bottle...

Drawn This Way competition
I spotted on Twitter earlier that Lady Gaga has been announced as a new columnist for V Magazine, and they are running a competition where the winning illustration of her will be featured alongside the column.
For some reason, I thought I'd submit an illustration, even though I'm fairly sure they won't end up chosing this as the winning entry...

Happy Birthday Alyana!
Last week was my friend Alyana's birthday. I didn't put it online immediately because she lives in Melbourne and I wasn't sure when it was going to arrive in the post to her, but thankfully it made it very soon after the actual day.
I tried something different with this card by just drawing using pencil and scanning that without inking the image. I like the softer line it creates.
